Sarasota and Bradenton Ranked Among America's Happiest Cities
Just take a look at this year's wild winter weather and it's no surprise so many consider Florida as an attractive place to live. That said, the balmy climate and sunshine aren't all this great state have to offer.
Communities all throughout Florida are well known for their beauty, serenity, and excellent quality of life. In fact, two of them – Sarasota and Bradenton – have recently been recognized as some of the happiest places to live anywhere in the United States.

National Geographic is dedicated to uncovering the wonder and majesty of the world around us, so when it talks, people listen. In October 2017 it released its list of the happiest cities in the United States, prominently featuring Florida throughout.
Ranking in at a respectable #14 against some of the most affluent communities in North America was the North Port/Sarasota/Bradenton area. In particular, author George Stone pointed out the unique attractions of the region, including the Ringling Museum.
National Geographic isn't the only organization to stand up and take notice of the area.
In 2017, Sarasota and Bradenton were praised by dozens of local, state, and national groups. These two communities racked up an impressve list of accolades, including:

In addition, Sarasota and Bradenton were recognized for a phenomenal culture and arts scene. The cities are home to some of the top playhouses, galleries, and sports venues throughout the state of Florida – all without the crowds you would expect from a larger metro zone.
